Answer: MIRRORSHADES edited by Bruce Sterling
'Twas a little before X-mas, for prey and predator,
Not a creature was stirring, not even an editor.
The books were wrapped under the tree with care,
In hopes that readers would soon be there.
The dreamers were snoring all comfy in their beds;
While visions of robots waltzed in their heads.
The moon tidally locked in its orbit about Earth,
Reflected photons upon all regardless of girth.
Then what to my mind’s eye did suddenly appear,
But novellas, novelettes, and short stories so dear,
Hard science fiction for its many fans and the like,
Traveling sidewise in time or braving a space hike.
As punks wax bio, cyber, silk, steam, or solar,
Climate change razes environs hot and polar.
Space pirates, shape shifters, aliens, and such things,
A space opera’s not over ’til the green blob sings.
Hence to bound pages book lovers will soon go,
Thanks to a story’s plot, protagonist, and foe.
So, read away, read away late into the night,
Then spread the word quick on many a website.
And imagine as a writer smiles with surprise,
‘Cause a review is so much better than a prize.
Now with gifts in hand let’s exclaim with gusto this cheer,
“Season’s Greetings to all and to all a Happy New Year!”
